Here is what she says at the start… the talking part…

Take note of the music, it’s suspense music, kind of like, dark… but.. yeah you get it.. Don’t forget, the staring sequence is the end result, the conclusion. The middle part goes through how she got there. It’s like a reverse movie, you know what happens at the end, but not what lead up to it.  Here is exactly what she says in the opening sequence…

“I think–I think when it’s all over,
It just comes back in flashes, you know?
It’s like a kaleidoscope of memories.
It just all comes back. But he never does.
I think part of me knew the second I saw him that this would happen.
It’s not really anything he said or anything he did,
It was the feeling that came along with it.
And the crazy thing is I don’t know if I’m ever gonna feel that way again.
But I don’t know if I should.
I knew his world moved too fast and burned too bright.
But I just thought, how can the devil be pulling you toward someone who looks so much like an angel when he smiles at you?
Maybe he knew that when he saw me.
I guess I just lost my balance.
I think that the worst part of it all wasn’t losing him.
It was losing me.”

Video Clip Through This Part

As you can see from the screenshots above, she is waking up on the ground of a rave party, mess everywhere with no one else around here. She is having flash backs from the night and previous weeks before… of the male…

Here are some images and screenshots from the video….

Interpretation/Conclusion of Opening Sequence/Part

Taylor had fun, partied with this particular male… It was fun, he was crazy and wild and fun. A rock star. But they went to a rave together, and in the morning, she wakes up and everyone, including him is gone. She is stranded in a desert, with party remnants everywhere, paper, cups, tents (with no one in them).. She is looking around, noticing she is alone. That he left her there, all by herself, with no way home. With no reason, and he didn’t feel guilt or pain… He just left her there. She knew this was going to happen though, didn’t listen to herself, so really, she only has herself to blame, and she knows this….  Here are some sentences from the opening sequence, and what exactly they mean…

She knew he had a crazy, wild life, this can be linked to this sentence in the opening speaking part – “I knew his world moved too fast and burned too bright.”

She knew it would happen, which can be linked to this sentence.. “I guess I just lost my balance'” along with

“I think part of me knew the second I saw him that this would happen.
It’s not really anything he said or anything he did,
It was the feeling that came along with it.
And the crazy thing is I don’t know if I’m ever gonna feel that way again.
But I don’t know if I should”

She is deeply emotionally hurt from it, from being left by him , which can be linked to the following sentences…..I think–I think when it’s all over,
It just comes back in flashes, you know?
It’s like a kaleidoscope of memories.
It just all comes back. But he never does”

The last thing of importance is that when you get so lost in someone else, you forget who you are. Your likes and dislikes and preferences don’t matter. Love can be unhealthy very quickly, when you give yourself up for someone else and are consumed by them.. This can be linked to the last sentence.. “I think that the worst part of it all wasn’t losing him.
It was losing me.”

One last thing, she is saying, LOVE FUCKING HURTS. END OF STORY… Here is the paragraph that backs this up…

And the crazy thing is I don’t know if I’m ever gonna feel that way again.
But I don’t know if I should”

END SPEAKING PART

“I don’t know if you know who you are until you lose who you are”

Here she is trying to say, that you shouldn’t put your entire self in someone else, because if they leave, so do you… and it takes a while to heal from this.

After this, the song starts… It’s not dark either, it’s pop, preppy… This signifies that even though it was bad and hard at the time, looking back, it was worth it and the good memories outweigh the bad.

STAY TUNED FOR PART 2-

which will be the Middle and End Interpretation
